Should It Be Easier If You Are Empowered?

It is always assumed that when you are empowered, reporting gender based violence is easier. These assumptions are often the reason why many empowered women fail to report their experiences of abuse. Constantly experiencing denial symptoms. You cannot believe that this is happening to you. Why is it when you know all the classic symptoms of abuse which you have been preaching to others for years, do you fail to report it?
Why do you fail to get out of the abusive situation??? It is this denialist syndrome that torments many empowered women today!!! The bottom line remains-irrespective of how enlightened the brother claims to be, your success infuriates him and the higher you climb the corporate ladder, the deeper the rage and hatred grows. Sisters beware.............what strategies do we adopt to avoid falling into the very trap we preach to the masses of survivors of abuse???
